Shirts Shopping Tips (with a body brace)

Hey,

STAY AWAY FROM
-Shirts: I tend to stay away from tops that have low backs, really tight tops, tank tops, or cut-off shirts. I know that having your back showing is in right now, but when your wearing the body brace all your going to see is your "super attractive" body brace. Also, even if you aren't wearing your body brace, you're back is crooked (obviously because you have scoliosis) so seeing your crooked back is not that attractive in my opinion. Tight tops tend to show all the details of your body brace. You can wear those types of tops if you want, but if you don't want people to know about/see the body brace, I wouldn't recommend it. Tank tops, tend to either be cut to low in the back or on the sides, or are too tight. Sometimes, I am able to find tank tops that cover all of the body brace, and are relatively loose, but most tank tops are not. Cut-off shirts, are very unattractive when worn with a body brace. Normally, they would show your midriff, however with a body brace, all it would show is your body brace.

LOOK FOR
-Shirts: I really enjoy the peplum trend, t-shirts with scarves over them, and over-sized sweaters. The peplum trend is great for people with body braces. Those types of shirts typically don't tend to be very tights, and they flare out at the really noticeable part of the body brace. T-shirts with scarves are great because you don't have to worry about the body brace showing. This is due to the fact that the scarf covers most of your torso. Over-sized sweaters are also great. This is because they're bulkiness covers/hides the body brace.
